Was he telling the truth?

so me and my bf havent been having the greatest time. we are always fighting over stupid stuff basically and im sick of it. so i told him im done with us and he called me constantly. like i had 21 missed calls, 2 voicemails, and endless txts tht i ignored. so then he tells me tht he loves me and im hurting him because im ignoring him and i dont know if he said it just to like soften me up and get me to talk to him or just cuz he really means it. thts the 1st time he said it since we have been together and its been a month. honestly i dont believe him but what do you think?
