I am so mortified, how can this be resolved?

Well I have been posting questions about this boy that I am crazy about. These two girls found out that I like him, and they go to the same school as him. I was so worried when I found out they knew because they are such sh*t stirrers. They told him that I like him and he said he doesn't know me. I think he will realize who they meant and then the next time I see him, it will be really awkward! He is my friend's brother, and I go round to her house a lot, so I will probably see him soon. What should I say if he asks me about it? I really don't want him to know, but I don't want him to think that I don't like him. I want it to be a mystery.
