Advice on baby born at 37 weeks opposed to 40?

I have a question I am 37 weeks pregnant and am almost completely unable to walk. I suffer from S.P.D which is when the pubic bones soften and rub together with movement. My back is now thrown out which I am not sure yet what caused it but I do think I am having Braxton Hicks in my back. I am in so much pain. I want to talk to my doctor about all this and look at my options. I am fully willing to go until 40+ weeks without induction if that is what is best for my baby. I just want some opinions from mothers. If my doctor wants to induce me I was going to request checking the baby's size and if possible the lungs to insure he is ok to be born. I don't know what to do I will not be induced no matter how much pain I am in if it will risk my sons health. But am I taking a risk if I am induced at 37 weeks? If I wait would your recommend waiting until after 40 weeks or before in 38 or 39 weeks to agree to induce? I feel so guilty for even considering induction. I feel like a bad mother so please be kind. I am in more pain then I can ever remember being and that is the only reason why I am taking it into consideration.
